11:11

Growing up, it was as if my foot never ceased growing. At 12 I was wearing 9.5 Ferragamos, and now in my twenties, I flaunt a lovely size 11. While discrimination is supposedly obsolete, stores everywhere and everyday turn me away because my feet are just far too big (at 14 I was told to go to a transvestite shoe store to accommodate my request for such a large ladies shoe).I declare it time for equality for all feet, toes, and nails alike!

Bloomie's Lets You Filter Your Way with Shoe Seeker

Just in time for fall shoes, Bloomingdales has a great shoe search functionality. Seen here, they make it easy to filter up to the size you need.

Spin on Ferragamo Classics

Loving the spin on Ferragamo classics this season. I wear a 41.5, which may be the reason I am biased.

Nordstrom Searchability

As mentioned before, I am a big fan of Nordstrom's shoe department. They have always been supportive of my lifelong problem with gigantic feet. As I was browsing their site today, I was pleased with the easy search functionality, which allowed me to narrow down specifically to the size and additional criteria I wanted. Also, they are offering free shipping on all shoes! What could be better?

Bubbly Toes

Someone once told me my feet reminded them of this song. I guess because my feet are big, my toes are bubbly or maybe it's the other way around...

J. Crew for all - BIG & small

J. Crew is a supporter of all feet, big or small with sizes from 5-10, 11 & 12. I find they even run a bit big and can squeeze my 11s into a 10 if the shoe is open toe. They have some great styles this season!

Vintage Finds - not just for the small footed

EDITH MACHINIST - I stumbled upon a great vintage shoe, bag, and clothing store on Rivington a few months ago and snagged a great pair of pumps in my size. While their size 11 section is limited, there are some great finds and it is definitely worth a look. The sales people are extremely helpful and more than accommodating to boat size feet.

Feet don't just grow in utero, but outside too

This is what I have to look forward too...

Big Offender, Big Footstration

I was once again reminded this past weekend how frustrating it can be to go into a store and not be able to shop with your friends for shoes. Bloomingdales is a repeat offender. While the two stores in NYC have more size 11s than the stores in PA, I am repeatedly disappointed when I request assistance from a sales person, only to hear the same words of, "Only Tory Burch, Cole Haan, and Frye come in 11s - All the others I am not sure." Those words are enough to get me to drive out of town straight to a Nordstrom. So much for the Friends & Family Sale. :(

Celebs are normal peoples too....

Paris Hilton may be freaky in many ways, but her size 11 feet are not one of the things that she should dislike about herself. She is our unofficial and non-contracted spokeswoman for the site, until further notice.

Madewell - Made for me

After being a die-hard fan of Madewell clothing for a while now, and after repeated trips to the store in Soho asking if they had each and every shoe in the store in a size 11, they finally have given in and offer most styles in a size 11. Here are a few of my favorites in neutrals for spring.
